March!

Claudia finished her basketball season.  She got a lot better this season, her first in real games.  She ended up scoring about 5 pts each game.  She works really hard.

Last weekend Claudia was tested for her piano lessons on theory and her playing.  We think she did pretty well, although we don't have the results yet.

Track Meet

Claudia got 6th in the 55m and 3rd in the long jump. She got 11th in the 400m. She was in the 9 and 10 age group.

Bobby McFerrin

The girls and I had a special visit to New York City last night.  We went to the Time Warner Center for dinner and a concert at Jazz at Lincoln Center.  JALC is a huge facility with three theaters.

We had dinner at Landmarc which is a big restaurant, but it is very kid friendly.  They even brought cotton candy out at the end of the meal.

We then went to the Bobby McFerrin concert.  We sat in one of the boxes behind the stage.  The sound was not great but we had the box to ourselves and could see really well so it worked out.

January

Claudia is really enjoying basketball.  She has been doing good at winter soccer.

This week she had a bowling birthday party with Emily, Caroline, Erin, Leah, Jack, Noah, Taylor, and Molly.  It was super fun.

Claudia got a big girl bike for her birthday.  A non K-Mart bike that should hold together in summer triathlons.  She is still growing fast and had a healthy 8th year doctor appointment.

They won! Record is 1-1.

Basketball

Claudia played her first basketball game on Saturday and lost 16-15.  Mommy is her coach and was super excited by how well the team played.

Claudia also is playing futsal on Sundays for an hour.  Its kind of an indoor soccer.

Thanksgiving

Claudia liked setting up the place cards for Thanksgiving. She loves listening to everyone at the table. She also really, really wanted to go to Rillos so we went last night.

Claudia is doing well on her piano and in school. She is starting basketball season after a very successful soccer season. She will be doing indoor futsol soccer this winter.

Maker Faire

Claudia went to the huge Maker Faire in NYC today with Daddy's high school. She saw a lot "oh my god that's so cool". The faire is huge. She was entranced by this video board.

GOAL

Claudia scored a goal today!  Her first in U9.  Her team won 3-2 today for their first victory.  Claudia was super, super excited to score a goal.  She is playing really well at this level.

Mark and Joan

Claudia had fun visiting Aunt Joan and Uncle Mark in Long Island.  She also had a big soccer game in Greenwich on Sunday.

First Days

We think Claudia has gotten off to a good start at school.  She isn't incredibly excited, but she seems to be warming up to the idea.  Above all she needs a teacher to challenge her and we hope Mrs. Haddad will do that.

She has her first soccer tournament this weekend.  She also is continuing on piano.

Triathlon

Claudia did the kids triathlon this afternoon before Mommy did her race.  Claudia did a real short swim, about 1/6 mile bike, 1/6 mile run.  She was in the 4-7 age group.

She was really nervous.  Unfortunately her bike broke down and she fell off.  But she kept running and didn't stop.  While we really hoped this didn't happen, sometimes bad things happen to good people.  It was a great learning experience.

my teacher

One day I went down to the mailbox and  there was a letter inside of the mailbox.  It was for me!  There was another letter for molly.  I opened it up and it said my teacher was mrs. Haddad.  Molly's teacher was mrs Musante.  Cade was in Mollys class and caroline was in my class.  Ryan was in Mrs.Kings class Molly was really sad.
